Relaxed Drawstring Hoodie — the fit does the talking
Relaxed is engineered, not guessed
Add width without a plan and you get a tent. The plan here is about where the extra room goes: the shoulder seam drops 4–5 cm below the natural shoulder and the chest carries 8–10 cm of ease — but the side seam tapers slightly toward the hem, and a 2×2 rib closes the bottom edge. That is the whole trick. The volume reads as shape, not slack, because the hem is held. On a size L that is roughly 8 cm more body width than a regular fit, with a hem that still sits where it should after ten washes.
Inside the hood: a knit lining, and why it matters
An unlined hood is a raw shell folded in on itself — the inner face itches, curls at the edge, and looks tired from week two. This hood carries a knit lining that sits flat against the neck and keeps the opening's shape when the cord is cinched. The drawstring is a 4–5 mm tubular cord through a self-fabric tunnel with metal tips, cut to sit mid-chest. The check we run at sampling: cinch the hood fully, let go, and the opening should recover evenly with no puckering at the eyelets. If it does pucker, the lining weight changes before you ever see a sample.

Drawstring hood & kangaroo pocket, worn
The pocket is measured by what it carries
A kangaroo pocket lives or dies on its stress points. Ours is one piece, bar-tacked where the opening meets the side seam at 8–10 stitches per cm, with a bound opening that keeps its line. The test is simple and a little unfair: hang a 200 g weight — roughly a phone, keys and a wallet — off the pocket mouth. If it sags more than a couple of millimeters, the stitch count goes up. A pocket that holds its mouth is the difference between a hoodie that looks worn-in and one that looks worn-out.
Rib is what makes relaxed look intentional
Skip the rib, or run it too narrow, and the hem folds and rolls — the first place a relaxed hoodie looks cheap. Here the cuffs and hem take a 2×2 rib, scaled to the fabric weight you choose: a heavier cloth takes a wider band, a lighter one a narrower 5–6 cm. Same recovery check every time — stretch the rib to 1.5× its width, let go, and it should spring back within millimeters. The rib is not decoration. It is what keeps all that engineered ease looking deliberate, season after season.
Brushed fleece — winter
Soft raised inner face for cold-season drops. A development option — confirm weight and hand with your tech pack.
Loop-back knit — mid season
Smooth loop inner face, lighter drape. Also a development option — we clone the hand from your swatch.
Your fabric, your spec
This style ships as a make-to-spec blank, so the cloth is decided by you, not by us. Send a swatch or a tech pack and we match the weight, the hand and the inner finish. Common directions for this silhouette run 280–400 gsm — those are starting points to confirm per project, not a fixed spec. What we hold constant, whatever the cloth: the lining in the hood, the drop of the shoulder, and the rib that closes the shape.
What you can put on it
A blank is a promise that your branding lands clean. For private-label and wholesale runs:
- Logo — chest, sleeve or hood embroidery, or screen print, placed from your tech pack.
- Color — body, lining, cord and rib matched to your palette, or contrasted on purpose.
- Size — unisex graded XS–XXL; we take the side seam in if your market runs slim.
- Fabric — your spec, from swatch or tech pack; we clone weight and hand.
- Pack — polybag, hangtag and carton to your retail spec.
How a run actually goes
Most buyers open with a 1,000-piece run in two or three colors, see what moves, then reorder the winner. Sampling takes 7–10 days after fabric and details are confirmed; once the sample is approved, bulk ships in 25–35 days. FOB sits at US$1.8–3.7 per piece depending on fabric weight and trims — we quote against your tech pack, not a guess. Metal cord tips add a couple of days; everything else stays inside the base window.
One honest fit note
These run true to a relaxed spec. If your customers expect a slimmer dropped-shoulder line — common in parts of Europe — say so before sampling. We take the side seam in, never the shoulder, so the dropped look survives the alteration.
